UPDATE

I went out with the guy I met a month back online. We have talked every evening since then but it was only today that we had another date. It is a difficult situation because I like the guy as a "friend" and enjoy talking to him but the dates suck. Todays date involved going to the mall down the street from me. We sat and talked for 3 hours. I go to this mall all the time so it isn;t a date to me. Then he took me to CHilis (a grill type restaraunt) and all we had were chips and salsa. He has a good job and no dependents but seems cheap. The total spent on all 3 dates is 17 dollars! I know people say that I shouldlnl't be keeping track but I can't help thinking that guys do take women out to dinner and stuff so why can't I find a guy who will do the same. In his profile he mentions liking to go to dinner and movies and stuff and likes to pamper and spoil a woman. Well I'm sorry Idon't feel very pampered or spoiled. The waitstaff kept asking us if we were ready to order (the chips and salsa is an appetiser) and he told them we were only having the chips. I was kinda embarrased and jealous of the couples around me that had nice big hamburgers and steaks and stuff. I saw the bill and he paid with a 10 and got 5 back. I glanced at the check and it totaled 4 75 for the chips. Apparently we hadn't been charged for the sodas, but he didn't mention it. I can't help but feel a little down as what's the point of going to a restaraunt that has good food if you are just going to eat chips and salsa? He kept mentioned how full he got on just chips and salsa. I really dont want to go out with him again because I would like to use my nights off to meet someone else instead because I just don't think I could be happy with a cheapskate. I know personality is more important but come on how many guys would date a woman who had a great pesonality and was nice and all but weighed 300 lbs? Guys have their priorities and we ladies have ours. I just can't get passionate about a cheapskate.

It is really discouraging to me because this is the furthest I have got with a guy in years, met over 15 guys in the past few months and never got a second date. It seems like life throws in a bummer with everything. The guy is really nice and completely safe. He didnt' pressure me into meeting like most of the guys online that want to meet the next day even though you know nothing about them. He and I talked for 3 weeks about everything so I know about his family, job, divorce, etc. I enjoy talking to him and am comfortable with him but I just don't think I could be happy with him. Last friday as we sat for 3 hours at the mall, it would have been nice to have a coffee, icecream, or a pretzel but he never offered. It would have been nice to have a hamburger at chilis instead of chips and salsa (which I can eat , so I only had chips). He is a teacher and has no dependents and gets a military retirement and for God's sake he put in his profile that he makes 75K and wants a woman to spoil and pamper. Why do guys say these things if they don' t mean it? These same guys would probably have a fit if a woman lied about her weight but they think nothing of lying themselves. I think I will continue to be friends with him if possible but try not to see him too much as I don't want to get romantic with him.

I talked to this guy last night and I mentioned to him the problem I am going to have saturday night getting home from work. I normally take the bus to work and either ride home with a coworker or have to take a taxi. I only live 5 blocks from work but the freeway makes it impossible for me to walk straight so I have to detour to get to work so I take the bus. However this saturday the underpass is going to be closed most of the weekend and I will have to leave an hour earlier to take the bus to work because of the 2 mile detour. I can handle that because it is daytime and I can take the bus but when I get off at 10 30 pm that is the problem. It is unsafe to walk and besides the underpass is closed so I can't. There isn't anyone working with me that night that I can ask for a ride, they are all a bunch of new hires, young guys that either ride with others or whatever, anyway they aren't going to give me a ride so I am stuck taking a taxi and with the detour my normal 7 dollar taxi ride will probably be 20 dollars. I took a taxi from an equal distance and it cost me 15 dollar and this is a little furthur. I can't afford this but I have no choice and don't really like to take taxis because they drive off as soon as I get out and I prefer someone to watch till I get in my apartment since the time I was robbed at gunpoint I was at my stairs. I mentioned this to the guy I have been seeing and he said, wow sounds like you are going to have a challenge. WHat?? I was hoping he might offer to drive by and pick me up and bring me home, I don't think I am asking much. He seems interested in me because we talk for hours every night but gee, he sure isn't much of a friend, forgetting about pampering and spoiling me. lol He lives on the other side of the freeway so he could get to me easily and the detour in a car at 10 30 at night shouldn't be a problem. It might take an hour of his time. I am remembering all of this so when he tries to get physical with me, I can reject him.

Well I met another guy last night that I had been talking to for 2 weeks. We met and I know I don't meet his imcome and education requirements, but after all he contacted me. We met for coffee and talked and seemed to have a good time. He mentioned that he had to leave (about and hour and half later, which is ok, he was going out of town today to visit his dad) but when he brought me home, he didnt even wait to make sure I got in my apartment safely. He drove off as soon as I got out. I always mention to the guys I meet that my apartments are not safe, usually have to tell them this to explain why I can't meet after dark.

I sent him a message that I enjoyed meeting him, but didnt hear back from him. I guess another one down, one closer to mr right? Or am I on a never ending dating parade.
