Hi everyone,
The weird part about this whole thing is that I only dated my ex for about two weeks. It took us a whole semester to finally find time to get together (I have a very busy school and work schedule, and he works 3 jobs) and it only lasted two weeks. But it was the best I was ever treated by a guy. He drove 45 minutes to see me nearly every day, called me and left me messages just to let me know he was thinking about me. He gave me presents, and introduced me to his entire family as his girlfriend. He even gave me his credit card number over the telephone and allowed me to drive him $16,000 dream car. Anyone who saw what was between us would be in agreement that he was pursuing me much much more. Then out of the blue he called me on New Years Eve (after talking earlier that morning) and said he couldn't be with me anymore.
I played it cool even though I was shocked. He appologized over and over for hurting me and I said calmly, "It's fine you're not hurting me. Have a happy new year." I asked him if he wanted to be friends and he asked if I could even consider it after everything that happened and I said it was "up to him" and he said, "Thank you, Suzanne I'll always cherish you. Goodbye."
I felt upset by losing someone that I felt cherished me but I didn't call him after that, I went out with friends, got a haircut, went to clubs at night and began living my life again. Now I'm back at school and things are strange. He works as an assistant chef at my school you see. His parents work here too. For the first couple of weeks I was too afraid of bothering him to go to his cafeteria so I went to the other cafeteria on campus. His friend Jefferson works in the other cafeteria I started visiting and he keeps coming up to me and striking up conversation. He asked me for my phone number after I told him about a kickboxing class I was taking and he began texting me. One day when I was leaving the cafeteria, Jefferson walked me to the door and kissed me on the cheek. (I'm hoping it was a friendly gesture) That night my friend Jamie told me that she saw my ex at work about a week ago and he asked how I was doing. Jamie told him I was good and he asked what I had been up to. Jamie just told him I was up to the ususal and then he asked her if I had told her about what had happened. Jamie pretended to be confused and he said, "she didn't tell you we broke up?" and then Jamie said she had no idea. Then my ex asked her if we were close and Jamie said that we talked everyday but that I've been really busy lately and a bit all over the place.
I also ran into my ex's mom a few days prior to hearing that from Jamie. His mom smiled and told me I looked beautiful and asked how I was. She made no mention of her son but asked how my classes were and didn't even charge me for my coffee. She's such a sweetheart.
After these positive experiences I decided to finally visit the other cafeteria. My ex was working and he saw me come in. When he looked at me I smiled and said, "Hi Josh!" He smiled back but it was a soft smile like the way he looked at me while we were together. Once I got my sandwich I walked over to his station and said hello. He first said, "Oh you get a sandwich but not any pasta." and I grinned and said, "well I wanted a sandwich today." then I laughed and said it was going to be much more difficult to talk to him while he was working at the pasta station. He then said something along the lines of, "you don't talk to me." (what does he expect when he dumps me?) and I said, "well I'm talking to you now." We made some small talk about his haircut and about me running into his mom a few days ago. His line however was very busy so I smiled and said I was going to go sit down then he said, "I'll get your number from Jefferson." and I said, "you don't have it?" and he said that he got a new phone so I just said "okay" and then went to go pay for my food.
I sat down with a bunch of my friends and then we chatted about various things. Somewhere through the meal, Jefferson (my ex's friend) came into the cafeteria. He saw me and came up to me and put his hand on my shoulder and said "hello" but he quickly hurried off. Later that night Jefferson texted me saying he was "sorry he didn't talk long but he didn't want to interrupt me with my friends". He then asked me what I was doing and what I was doing over the weekend. After that conversation I didn't hear from Jefferson again and I haven't heard from Josh.
So I'm really confused and have a bunch of questions:
1) Is Jefferson hitting on me or is he just being a nice person?
2) How does Josh know that Jefferson has my number? I only had given Jefferson my number a day ago before seeing Josh.
3) Is Josh trying to get information on me from Jefferson?
4) Do you guys think Josh will actually call me?
5) How can I make myself appear more desirable and vibrant to Josh?
6) Do you think that there is still a chance I could get back together with this guy?
