I'm no expert with men, but I can share my experience. I met a man that I thought was very attractive. We started communicating and both were feeling each other out for whether or not the other was looking for a date or a relationship. I basically let him know what I was looking for in a relationship and that I wouldn't settle for anything less. In the beginning I never called him unless he asked me to call him (because I had plans and he didn't want to call while I was otherwise occupied). I am a natural flirt, I don't realize I am flirting sometimes. We went on our first date and I acted totally myself. I was very comfortable with him, which put him at ease. I made good eye contact with him and occasionally 'bumped' into him, to break that touch barrier. He soon was intentionally being where I would even accidentally bump into him so that he could touch me back (just so I wouldn't fall into him). It was a great date with great conversation and lots of flirting, a very natural attraction.

The thing he told me he liked about our first date was that I was such a good flirt. I made him feel desirable. He felt good being around me, he liked being around me and had an impression that I was 'fun' to be around. We talked and laughed a lot. Guys don't want to be around a negative woman.

Know what you want in a relationship and have realistic expectations of what you want. Convey to men you meet that you have expectations and they if they are interested in you that they need to meet your expectations. We women seem to forget that we control the dating experience. Yes, it takes men longer to get to 'I do' than it does for us, but you can help him along.

This man I met that I am so crazy about, yes I felt like calling him and emailing him all the time, but restrained myself because I didn't want to be perceived as needy, or a nut case, and didn't want him to know that I was crazy about him and scare him off. Yes, he knew I was attracted to him, but he felt exactly the same way about me. What he didn't know was how absolutely crazy I was about him from the start. I didn't let on to my feelings for him until AFTER he expressed his feelings for me. After he let me know that he wanted us to date exclusively, then I started letting on to how I felt so he knew it was mutual. Never sharing that I had more feeings for him than he did for me. I found out from my girlfriend just how nuts he was about me, and we talked about it and then I shared with him how absolutely crazy I was about him. But at this point, it was totally mutual and he wanted to know that he wasn't chasing the wind.

Well, we are married now and still flirt continually and are still very attracted to each other. You need to be fun to be around, be willing to do things that he likes just to be with him. He will do the same in return.

Sometimes we just end up trying to pursue a man that really isn't looking for a relationship, just someone to hang out with, a friend with 'benefits' so to speak. Make it clear from the start that you aren't that kind of woman, that you don't freely give yourself away, you are more selective than that. He'll respect a woman that knows what she wants, is a good flirt, is fun to be around, and cares enough about herself to not give herself away.

If you are needy, they will run. Get your own life together before looking for a man to fill the void. Don't have a void in your life to fill. Be active and get to a point where you are happy with your life just as it is. Then when you meet 'the man' you can tell him that you don't need a man, but are ready to share your life with the right man. Men don't necessarily want to be needed, they want to be wanted, desired, admired, trusted, respected. Needy women scare them off. Don't be needy.
